THE MODEL

A joint venture with Trans Adriatic Pipeline.

TAE is a joint venture between EXA Infrastructure and Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP), owner of the gas pipeline carrying energy from the Caspian to southern Italy. Two fibre cables run alongside the pipeline, plus a subsea crossing under the Adriatic.

EXA Infrastructure's role

EXA Infrastructure built and operates 1,300+ km of fibre interconnect linking the route to its regional hubs, Bari, Tirana, Athens, Sofia and Istanbul. It&#39;s fully integrated into the wider EXA Infrastructure global network, not a standalone system sitting apart from everything else we run.

Engineering and operations

Support and 24/7 operations run from the Dublin NOC, the same team managing the rest of the EXA network. There's no separate support structure to navigate, TAE gets the same operational standard as every other route we own.

THE PIPELINE ADVANTAGE

Owned route, owned reliability.

Reliability

The fibre is buried 1 to 10m alongside Critical National Infrastructure, with strict no-dig (4+4m) and no-build (20+20m) zones and regular patrols, up to eight times fewer cuts than fibre laid in public roads.

Latency

The pipeline takes a very direct route, the shortest path between Italy and Istanbul, with 39 directional-drill river crossings and 3 micro tunnels. Milan and Istanbul have never been closer.

Diversity

A genuinely independent corridor from Istanbul into Europe, away from the standard Mediterranean routes.
