EXA Infrastructure is building a new dedicated Open Cable Landing Station in Sicily. It will be in Mazara del Vallo on the Italian island’s southeastern shoreline, and will consolidate existing landing sites there into a scalable next generation facility better able to address the needs of a rapidly changnig market. Sicily’s importance as a hub between Europe, Africa, and Asia has been steadily growing for a while now.

EXA Infrastructure and IslaLink announce agreement for IONIAN cable system

Islalink is building IONIAN, a 24 fibre pair ultra-low-loss fibre optic cable across the Ionian Sea from Crotone in southern Italy to Preveza in Greece, offering an alternative to the existing ageing sub-sea cables in the region.
