EXA Infrastructure has been busy to its south and east this week. They have signed an MoU with Digital Realty to expand their fiber network into new data centers in the Mediterranean, with an eye on Barcelona, Athens, Heraklion (Crete), and others. Meanwhile EXA has announced a new partnership with Cinturion to use the Trans Europe Asia System to connect Italy with the Middle East via dual routes.

Subsea cable owners EXA Infrastructure and Cinturion have joined forces to improve connectivity between India, the Middle East and Europe. Under the arrangement, EXA will "land" one of Cinturion's TEAS (Trans Europe Asia System) connections in Pescara, on Italy's Adriatic coast.

Subsea cable sector continues to boom

The international subsea cable sector is booming. Today, more than 450 submarine cables carry about 95% (or more, the percentage is contentious and continually debated) of all international telecom service traffic, together with the ever-increasing data traffic generated by the hyperscale cloud companies and big streaming content providers.
