London, 4 November 2025 – EXA Infrastructure, the largest dedicated digital infrastructure platform connecting Europe and North America, today announced the deployment of FiberSense’s state-of-the-art DigitalAsset™ monitoring and protection service across its core fiber network in Italy.

This collaboration represents a major advancement in proactive network management, delivering new levels of visibility, resilience, and security for EXA’s critical fiber routes.

DigitalAsset™ uses advanced vibration sensing and AI-driven analytics to transform existing optical fiber into a vast network of environmental sensors. This capability allows EXA Infrastructure to detect and classify activity occurring in real time along its buried fiber routes — such as accidental excavations, construction interference, or environmental disturbances — before they can cause service disruptions.

“Protecting our network and ensuring service continuity for our customers is paramount,” said Ciaran Delaney, COO, EXA Infrastructure. “By integrating FiberSense’s DigitalAsset technology, we gain a new layer of intelligence and situational awareness that lets us respond faster and prevent outages before they occur. This is another step forward in EXA’s commitment to delivering the most secure and reliable digital infrastructure in Europe.”

The deployment of DigitalAsset™ across Italy strengthens EXA’s broader strategy to leverage innovation and automation in safeguarding its 166,000 kilometers of fiber network across 37 countries. The solution complements EXA Infrastructure’s existing network management systems by delivering continuous 24/7 monitoring and precise geolocation of incidents, empowering operations teams to act immediately when threats are detected.

“We’re proud to partner with EXA Infrastructure to protect one of Europe’s most important network backbones,” said Dr Mark Englund, Founder and CEO, FiberSense. “Our DigitalAsset service brings a completely new level of intelligence to fiber networks, turning them into active digital sensors that help operators like EXA Infrastructure ensure their infrastructure is safer and more resilient.”

With this implementation, EXA Infrastructure continues to set the benchmark for network protection and operational excellence in the European digital infrastructure market.
